My name is Dennie Sheats, I am the founder of Extended Hands of Georgia, Inc. I was born and raised in the rural town of Winnsboro, South Carolina. After graduating from high school, I attended Allen University in Columbia, SC and graduated with a BA degree with a concentration in Marketing. Afterwards, I attended Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi and obtained an MBA. My work history included teaching at a college level for a couple of years but was given an opportunity by one of my managers to work in sales. I worked in the sales industry for more than 20 years both as a sales representative and as a branch manager. I received many awards including top sales person of the year, top sales nationwide, top performer, recognition awards, leadership awards, President’s awards to name a few. I have always had a desire and a personal interest in helping people/others but I had no clue as to why and how. Although I had a successful career in the sales industry, I was still feeling unfulfilled and was seeking my purpose and passion. After my mother became ill, I moved her into my home to care for her. A light went off in my spirit and it was then that I had finally discovered my purpose, my passion and my undeniable calling.
I can’t imagine going through this without Extended Hands. In a life where there are so many things to worry about, I’m glad I don’t have to worry about my day-to-day care. I’m so lucky Dennie picked up the phone!
Why We Are Here
The vision for Extended Hands of Georgia came about when my mother became ill and was unable to take care of herself. Because a nursing home was not an option, I moved my mother into my home to care for her as it was important that my mother had personal care and attention.The services that we provide help senior citizens and families who need assistance with everyday life situations.
